Re: Nephew wants to join Army
Last I heard, professional is served out at the Pentagon, Foreign Embassies, foreign and domestic bases, posts, ports and in all services world wide. The professional argument is usually debated in bars and not on battle fields. I don’t drink.

Re: Nephew wants to join Army
I’m not sure about the scores now, but if it is based on the scale of 150 (when I joined) or even 100, they may not take him with a score of 31. My score was 115 and was categorized as II. My take is partially from the mid-70s (for the scores), although I later was hired as a civilian in 2004. US Ar...

Re: Bogus stop by DPS
Found a ticket in the Civic my wife uses to go to work. It was for speeding. I asked why she didn't let me know and she said because it was just a warning. She was clearly speeding down a tall bridge and admitted to the trooper up front. He asked for her license to see if she was wanted and wrote th...

Re: Why No Citation
My wife saw someone hit our car (in the rear) in a parking lot in Phoenix. She drove and gave chase to the driver as he was trying to get out of the parking lot in a hurry. From what I could see, I thought he may be a gang member. He finally went into another parking lot and we drove up. I knew gett...

Jim, I've been meaning to send you a PM to let you know that you are one of my favorite members. I always love to read your posts as our lives seem parallel to each other. Your soft-spoken posts are always a welcome sight. I learned when I was 11 years old and my dad died; that there is nothing anyo...

Re: Do you use VA Clinics? Why do you go there?
I see it every time I go there. I see young people taking their paw paws and also middle age folks taking their older parents there. The wait is very long and is certainly the worst part. Although not following “their rules” is a close second. When you check in for an appointment at the front desk, ...

Re: Do you use VA Clinics? Why do you go there?
I had to cancel and reschedule an appointment a few months back. I received a 2 day notice via automated phone for my appointment. We had planned a trip to Phoenix (sister-in-law surgery on her carotid artery) and we were leaving the next day. I called to cancel my appointment and reschedule a new o...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
Sorry guys, I'm really at a loss in reading your comments. Where are all of the "come take it" people. Where are all the folks who can recite all the constitutional amendments? Did I miss it or has someone said you have the right to protect your property. It is my property and I will go t...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
Valk, Im not trying to pile on here, but I feel an obligation to tell you that if the situation you outlined had escalated and you ended up in court on a gun related charge, I think that the majority here, if on the jury, would probably have voted to convict. CHL or not, you cannot initiate a confro...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
But in the OP, you said you went back in and got your pistol and laid it out of site (personally I carry mine with me off or on my property but I have a CHL) Again, try talking to them first. Be friendly and explain that you do not want them crossing your property. At that point, you have given eff...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
I have to agree with some of the above. 1) why did you go back inside to get your gun? Did they have weapons? If so I can understand but I would probably guess no (other than tools) 2) Why did you not ask their intent? Then express your concern 3) Why did you not offer a viable alternative to using...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
If I understand your original post correctly, you said the neighbor had flowerbeds with edging, etc. If they had to move that stuff before bringing the equipment through, they most likely thought that going through your yard would save them time. It's likely in their best interest to get a job done...

Re: Defending Your Property Line
Questions still remain. Why my yard? What happened to someone knocking on the door to let me know what was about to take place?
