Re: Scope Height??
Don't have a cover yet, but the scope lines up nicely upon cheek weld.
Seems that the rear of the objective bell is what is closest to the barrel. There is more clearance on the muzzle end, so I think a cover will fit ok.
Thanks!

Scope Height??
Just set my first scope (Burris 4.5-14x42 on a Weatherby Vanguard S2 .270 win, Leupold DD bases and medium DD rings) and the objective bell just clears the barrel at the eye relief I set. I can slide dollar bill in between, but that's about it.
What would you consider to be minimal clearance?

Re: Scope Suggestions?
Yes, sorry. It's a .270 win and my main use will be for hunting in the 100-200 yard range. My budget is less than $500, closer to $300 if possible.
In the future I might try my hand at longer range target shooting, 300-500 yards, which is why I was looking at the higher magnification. Thanks!

Scope Suggestions?
Just bought a Weatherby Vanguard S2 in .270 win. Looking for a 3-9x40(ish) scope in a mil-dot reticle. Any suggestions?

WTS: Walther PK380
I'm interested in selling my PK380, but I'm not sure of the rules in TX. I believe it's a simple requirement to sell to someone who is also a TX resident, but no FFL is required, correct? Will post pictures and miscellaneous items that go with it once I know how this works. Thanks.

Will they steal my gun in New Orleans?
I've read some of the older posts regarding gun grabbing by New Orleans police. They'll ask you if you have a receipt and then confiscate if you don't...you are required by law to inform an LEO if you have a concealed weapon. I've read how to deal with it and how to avoid the issue, but it's still a...

Went with the Mil-Dot after reading up on how to estimate ranges. Thought it would be a bit more flexible. The Annoyed Man wrote:Excellent choice for a first scope!
