Am not so sure about that - there are already gun rights organizations in the Ukraine, even operating in the open, like this one http://zbroya.info/ru/.

They issued a call to arms on Thursday the 20th http://zbroya.info/ru/blog/2655_obrashc ... -oruzhiia/

Appeal to owners of weapons

Weapon owners,

We know that you are the most moderate and responsible part of the Ukrainian society, which so far did not participate in the standoff.

Unfortunately, however the conflict transitioned to the armed stage.

The control over the situation is effectively lost.

Now each one of us bears personal responsibility for his own safety and the safety of his family, and in this difficult time, also for the safety of his fellow countrymen.

Weaponry in the hands of responsible citizens has been in all times the best peacemaker.

We call you to act, governed by your own convictions and all-mankind moral values and, in case of necessity, give a resolute resistance to the criminal elements. In all the rest we rely on your reason and responsibility.

Ukrainian Association of Weapon Owners

If you can read that without a shiver running down your spine, please take a deep breath, slow down and read it again slowly.
I agree, it brought a tear to my eye as I read it. Godspeed to all the good men and women of the Ukraine, I pray for their lives and freedom.
