Re: S & W M & P or XD?

jbenat wrote:This is probably the wrong place to ask because there are so many XD fans here but I am considering buying either a S & W MP in 357 or a XD. Trying to get over the recent purchase of a Baby Desert Eagle 9mm by wife. Great gun but it's hers. I own a Sigma 9mm and like S & W products. The Sigma is very dependable but not too crazy about trigger pull.
Guy at the gun shop recommended the XD over the MP. Sounds like they are both good pistols. I've got some time to decide so I'm looking for info regarding both.
I don't know if it makes a difference to you, but the XD is less expensive.

The XD has been out long enough to be proven reliable. The M&P can't make the same claim just yet. I'd let someone else be the guinnea pig.

It's no secret that I am a fan of the XD.

I have well over 11,000 rounds through my 9mm Sub-compact. I can honestly report that I have never had a single malfunction of any kind.

I trust it with my life.

I do not own an XD-45, but I have put a fair share of rounds through them. They are outstanding. I cannot tell a difference between the slightly larger .45 frame and the standard full-sized frame. Performance is exceptional, ergonomics are superb, accuracy is great, and recoil is quite manageable. If you were to pick one up, I am confident that you will love it.
