Re: Have you ever actually drawn your CHL Weopon in self def

I havent had to draw down on anyone yet but I've come close twice (been CCWing for just under two years now):

First Time - About a year ago at 1am I get a call from a buddy that he needs a ride home from a bar. He sounds agitated and said he needs one ASAP so I throw on some clothes and at the last second before leaving I decided to bring my HK P2000. I show up at the bar and my buddy's already waiting in the parking lot. He runs to my car, gets in, and as I'm about to ask him what's going on, a 300+lbs thug that's clearly piss drunk runs out of the bar and waddles as fast as he can towards us. He's cursing, waving his arms, telling my friend how he's going to kill him for disrespecting him, etc. I turn the ignition right away and the dumbass moves right in front of my car to block us from driving off. My buddy (who's also drunk) opens the passenger door to get out and confront him. As I was about to yell at him to stay in the f-ing car, the door opening got the thug to walk over to that side of the car which left me enough room to drive off. The whole time I had my hand of the butt of my pistol, and my heart was beating FAST.

Second Time - Literally just a couple weeks ago. Its about 11am on a weekday and I hear some commotion at my front door. I look out the window and there are two mexicans, dressed in rags, placing a ladder up to my bedroom window. Mind you this was the middle of the day and literally all the residents of my apartment complex were gone (at work) except for me. I'm watching in disbelief as one guy is holding the ladder while the other is climbing up to my bedroom window and starts messing around up there. When I came to my senses, I grabbed my G23, left through the back door and came around to confront them from behind. I had the gun tucked under my shirt with my hand on the butt. When I demand to know what the hell they're doing, one of them looks at me, and says in very broken english that "The property manager hired us to replace the window frames." So while I'm standing there, with my hand on the gun, I call the property manager to confirm and it turned out he was telling the truth. Looking back now I can't believe that the property manager and these two laborers thought it would be a good idea to do this WITHOUT providing any prior notification to the residents. Not even a knock on the door to say "Hey, we're about to do some work here." It could have ended very badly.
