There are also a lot of people who have been eligible for any number of years, never bothered pursuing a CHL, suddenly wake up and decide they want to apply, and get impatient because it is taking so long. Not quite so compassionate, when they could have already had their CHL a long time ago if they'd bothered to apply then.

Better late than never! I couldn't do it when it first came around due to the very high cost of the training class plus the application fee. Couldn't afford it with the youngsters. Now I am down to 2 and the cost is more affordable...plus the Groupon sealed the deal. My husband had his already. I may be a little impatient but I know it will eventually arrive.
