Hindsight is 20/20, but his is changing history. His actions in the video don't appear to reconcile with his current statement. However, if I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt I hope he begins with obeying the law, giving respect and avoiding confrontation.Keith B wrote:This is the guy in the video who appeared to be lunging at the officer and caused him to draw his gun. If he follows what he says he will, then this is a great response from the young man

Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney
I think the chief and I have differing views. I think He's letting something other than the facts guide his decision process. Yes the officers actions were over the top, but career ending? I don't think so. At some point these parents have to take responsibility for their children's behavior. A sad day all around.

Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney
In the end it is public safety that will suffer the most. I wonder how this will effect all other LEOs? If I were his chief, I would not have accepted his resignation.

Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney
It is a hard video to watch. Mostly for the children's sake. I wonder how any of their parents ever thought that this was a good idea. As for the officer, I don't much go for his style of crowd control, but I did not see anything within the video that would rise to the level of an investigation. Again, it's the children here. For many it may be their first interaction with police officers. The civic leaders and police in Mesquite and as well as the parents have all failed.
