Not sure if there are any naval bases or air stations in GA but they are extremely military friendly in regards to their CCW. Don't quote me but if I remember right, you could conceal carry with just a valid, current Military ID. I opted for a permit at the time simply for reciprocity and it was extremely cheap, $37 for the probate court clerk (Chatham County) and $6 for fingerprints at the Sheriff's office. Permits are issued by the varying county probate courts and each sets their own fee.

(2) Wardens, superintendents, and keepers of correctional institutions, jails, or other institutions for the detention of persons accused or convicted of an offense;
(3)Persons in the military service of the state or of the United States;.....
O.C.G.A. § 16-11-126 wrote:
(h) (1) No person shall carry a weapon without a valid weapons carry license unless he or she meets one of the exceptions to having such license as provided in subsections (a) through (g) of this Code section.
