Sadly, Ellis County, which once issued a declaration as one of a number of 2nd Amendment supporting Texas counties, did not include gun and ammo sales on its essential businesses list. I noticed its order reads exactly the same as the ones issued from neighboring Dallas and Kaufman counties.
Also, when I called the Kaufman Sheriff’s Department for clarification on allowable “outdoor activities,” they emphatically said target shooting at a private outdoor shooting range was not included. I understand the need to stop the spread of the virus. But I think I have much less of a chance contracting it at a private outdoor range than I do if I were to jog around the neighborhood.
