Re: Albertsons goes the way of Walmart
OC serves what purpose? I never open carry but sure was glad when it passed because have been times when no matter how hard I try my firearm would be exposed by wind or reaching for something was a time that was a violation stuff happens. I hope we don't forget how far Mr. Cotton along with NRA,&am...

Re: 2019 Firearms Related Bills That Made it to Governor Abbott
I'm sure this may have been answered somewhere but I promise I tried to find it. My question is about HB 1552 deals with Texas Retired Law Enforcement Officers among other changes is that we will have to qualify every year instead of every 2 years for me that means about a hundred mile trip one way....

Re: Almost went to jail!!!
Are you kidding me? You have been given notice. The police gave you the verbal notice when they advised they had been called by the business. Stunts like this are what give a bad name to open carriers. :mad5 :iagree: :banghead: :iagree: :iagree: I can promise you will go to jail if you do that agai...

Re: U.S. Law Shield - Gun Law Center: Texas Open Carry is Im
I think he has an interesting point and might be right. I don't believe he is right, but he might be. We need to remember that the general law is that it is illegal to carry a pistol if you are off your own property. That is PC section 46.02. Section 46.15 says that 46.02 does not apply to a CHL. N...

Re: HB2625 CHL renewal fee waiver for instructors.
I guess if it makes sense for you. Do you generate any revenue with that instructor license? Does having this license prevent you from taking advantage of the current discounts available to other CHL holders? There would be some merit to your argument if DPS had to do additional work to issue a CHL...

I always hand them mine. They hand it back and say thanks. :thumbs2: I do too. Always. Common courtesy for me. When I've been stopped, it's hands on the wheel; no other movement except rolling down the window. When they get to the window, I always say, without fail: "Before we get started offi...

Re: Texas lawmaker files 'Pop Tart gun' bill
What's the penalty for attempting to punish a kid for chewing their food into a gun-like shape? I've become increasingly convinced that we won't actually solve the problem until we stop employing the problem people. :iagree: Anyone who would discipline a kid for "offenses" coming within t...

Re: Activating security alarm at retail stores while carryin
You must have something else going on. Once after shooting at Reds, so as not to leave any guns in my car, I went into the Cabela's in Buda with 5 full size handguns on my person and didn't set off any alarms. I've never set off an alarm anywhere no matter what gun I was carrying. The detectors at ...
