My wife is awesome. She has bought me a
few nice guns over the years, and this year, she out-did herself.
She received a call from Jaime at our
favorite LGS here in west Houston, and he told her that he had something that hit all my buttons, so on Christmas morning, I received a beautiful Argentinean Army-issue 1911.
Hits all the buttons because (a) I've been interested in trying out a 1911, (b) my wife was born and raised in Argentina, and (c) I was US Army, so I appreciate that it was an army-issue (even from a different country).
Per the serial number, this one was built in 1952.
On the right side of the slide is this stamp:
