Added:
I took it out to the range today, and it shot great. I had a few FTF issues, but I changed my grip, and all was good.
I sent 150 rounds downrange, and had a great time.
I did have a bit of a sore thumb when it was all done. You can see the photo below where part of my hand was left on the hammer where it extends below the tail of the gun.

What was under your Christmas tree this year?
My wife is awesome. She has bought me a few nice guns over the years, and this year, she out-did herself.
She received a call from Jaime at our favorite LGS here in west Houston, and he told her that he had something that hit all my buttons, so on Christmas morning, I received a beautiful Argentinean Army-issue 1911.
Hits all the buttons because (a) I've been interested in trying out a 1911, (b) my wife was born and raised in Argentina, and (c) I was US Army, so I appreciate that it was an army-issue (even from a different country).
Per the serial number, this one was built in 1952.
On the right side of the slide is this stamp:
D.G.F.M. - (F.M.A.P)
On the left side is this stamp:
EJERCITO ARGENTINO
SIST. COLT CAL 11.25 MOD 1927
