Well, I'm sitting here in Perth, Australia this week as I write this, and you should have heard the comments from the peanut gallery today when someone raised this story (yes, it was covered down under).

My Aussie friends down here know I'm a gun owner (and some know I'm a CHL holder), and they have such a hard time understanding our culture in the US. It's sad to see how the gun bans down here have affected the local citizenry. It seems they've lost any understanding of personal responsibility for self protection and protection of their families. Just trust the government - it will make everything OK!

Even after a short time, they've lost any will they may have had to own a firearm. Amazing how easily the entire culture has been programmed to think this way.

I do enjoy it down here - the people are great, and the weather is nice and cool since winter is about to set in - but I'm looking forward to being back in the US next Tuesday, and strapping my Sig back on when I get to the house (for at least a week and a half before I head out to Milan).
