I say that he should sign it at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement. That would make a statement!

I think he's just waiting to get the press conference together with the folks responsible to be in pictures.
Don't be surprised if it takes a while. The 84th legislative session ended on 6/1. The Open Carry and Campus Carry bills weren't signed until June 13th.
And signed with a bit of fanfare at 2A-friendly locations (e.g. Red’s Indoor Range in Pflugerville), just for the optics.

Stuff like that takes time to negotiate and set up.

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

It appears to have passed completely!
Now on to the governor’s desk.

Sen Schwertner is doing a good job of deflecting by pointing out that this bill does not address "reasonable suspicion". And again, Huffman has chimed in with friendly questions. I am feeling more optimistic about this bill passing with amendments in the senate. It will likely end up going to a conference committee to reconcile differences between house and senate.
Maybe my letter to Sen Huffman as an LTC holder, LTC instructor, and Republican Party precinct chair in her district helped sway her to think positively about the bill?

Yeah, I’m going with that...
