Re: Proof I don't know what I am doing
Just another option, but White Wing Weaponry did some engraving for me as well. I have used Ident several times too, but they were not willing to try on a polymer lower (M&P 15-22) with their laser, where White Wing was able to do so (they were not using a laser, at least at that time).

Re: Best Brands for AR parts?
If you are going "whole hog", why stick with the Alpha version of the KMR? Get the nice one and grab a V7 Ti barrel nut to go with it, and save 3 more oz.

Re: Proof I don't know what I am doing
Im not quite moved by the lower design, but a fun little gun (sans the weight!), from the looks. JALLEN - Cost on a .300blk is not any different than a 5.56, only difference is bbl, and those vary almost as much as 5.56 in price. I ended up with a 10.5" from DSG. A couple years back they did a ...

Re: Best Brands for AR parts?
as you can see, everyone has an opinion, and a reason (real or perceived) as to why something is best, good enough, or no good at all. Personally, I lean toward BCM, Noveske, LMT, and a couple other small companies I support, but I have a few Aero's around for fun too. As mentioned, an adjustable ga...

Re: Best Brands for AR parts?
With a fixed front sight post, I assume you have a standard handguard with the cap held in place by this. You said you replaced the rail, did you go free float, or go with a different drop in rail? If free float, do you plan on extending it to cover the new gas block? If so, why not just shave the F...

Re: Prayers for the wife
Greatly appreciated, both posts and pms. Updates will be slow, as this isn't a short or quick problem, but I won't let it die either.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

Prayers for the wife
Hello all! Been off the forum for a bit, and life has come roaring in - but my wife is in need of some prayers. The short version is it appears she was mis-diagnosed as a child, taken off (cold turkey) medicine she has been on for 20+ years, and we spent 11 out of 14 days in the hospital, getting ou...

Back in my possession. Not a horrible day, all in all. Made it up by 11:30 to get in before lunch, stopped at a couple places on the way home, and made it back in time to grab the wife some flowers and make dinner before she made it home for the evening.

Nope, no chance of shipping to an FFL. Must pick up in person.
I dont mind the drive, under $100 in gas on the bike or the daily driver. And I just look at it as a "stupid tax", so I can deal with that.
Thanks!

Re: A cuationary tale, with an ask for help... LONG!
Every story I see on here prompts a what if scenario for me to play in my head. Usually at night when I should be sleeping. Lol. Anyhow, my husband and I haven't stayed in a hotel room since either of us got our chl's (gotta love being poor!) But this story proves that the best bet would be to stor...

Re: A cuationary tale, with an ask for help... LONG!
I am not sure whose name they had, or why. My speculation is that they contacted Ruger -> Distributor -> Dealer from when the gun was new, and came up with a name that way. They would then have no way of knowing that person had sold it, or to contact Cabela's to find out I had bought it. I did learn...

Well, more good news to report. The detective got back to me, the information I provided was sufficient that she is releasing it back to me. But the property room wont get it until Monday, and then I get to deal with them on the background check. Fingers crossed that they let me provide info over th...
