Re: holster wiggle

so far, the most stable owb platform I own is the blackhawk serpa paddle. There are a LOT of people who despise the Serpa and have no problems telling you that. However, I love my Serpa for OWB. But I just can't get used to the paddle. It just doesn't feel right and I don't like it. I use the belt ...

Re: Recommend A Good Cleaning Gun Spray!

Although I clean After every range trip and at least once a month. I'm not particularly finicky about thoroughness. This is me too. Even if I know my gun can run thousands of rounds without being cleaned, I just can't stand " knowing " it's dirty in there. Back to the OP's question. I hav...

Re: Good EDC belt??

I'm in search of a good edc belt that is not leather. There is so many and I was seeing if anyone has found one they really like and recommend? I will be carrying a 1911 most of the time. I purchased the Ares Gear Ranger Belt a few months ago and don't regret it at all. It's a bit pricey, but the d...

Re: holster wiggle

Sometimes I carry a commander length 1911. It's a great pistol and, I don't mind the weight. The problem I have is when carried at 4:30 in a custom kydex holster it tends to need adjustment. The grip starts drifting downward on me. I've got another holster but the kydex is the easiest on/off rig I ...

We get it - you don't believe citizens should open carry. The horse is now pulverized. :deadhorse: Nope, not yet... it's still being beaten as the posts keep-a-comin' You don't have to click the link. ;-) Oh but I do... I'm addicted to this anti-OC thread. Plus, I was just joking. I practice the &q...

Re: Storing Loaded Pistol in Car?

I also think that while showing support for the NRA and 2nd amendment rights with stickers is great, it is also a sign for criminals to break into your car looking for guns. I've always put my NRA stickers on cars that belong to people I know are Anti-2a. I thought that's what they're for, isn't it...

Re: Recommendations for a .22LR handgun

http://whichgun.com/img/firearms/pistols/walther/p22/2.jpg I've had one of these little Walther P22's for about 10 years or so. The wife loves to shoot this little pistol. Is it the perfect gun? No. Has it ever jammed? Yes. Is it reliable? Maybe 1200 rounds through it, and only 2 or 3 misfeeds(sp?)...

Re: I have a problem!

But that Kahr turned me into a trigger snob! What has this world come to! Then these might really tickle your fancy...that is if you're a 1911 guy. I, myself, have become quite the trigger snob as of late. I picked up this interchangeable trigger system for my EDC. I can switch between curved and f...

Re: Waiting time

There is no rhyme or reason to what DPS does concerning LTC's... at least that I have ever seen. It could take a few weeks, or it could take a few months. Nobody really knows. 2 people from the same family could turn theirs in at the same time and it could be months for one and weeks for the other. ...

Re: Missouri Football Coach - No Handguns Ownership

It's theoretically your private employer's right to prohibit you from owning a handgun, or drinking at home, or smoking... This is why I don't discuss anything not work related with my current boss. Also why I didn't add him as a friend on facebook. We can be friendly at work, but he doesn't need t...

Re: How Accurate is "Defense-Accurate"?

For defense, reliability counts more than pinpoint accuracy IMO. Best would be having someone with a Ransom rest test fire it to see what the pistol is capable of. Or ask a friend who shoots well to give it their best try. It may be a quirk of the grips/angle / [code]an extra quarter inch that your...

Re: Gun type

I think I shoot better with it ! That is the most important deciding factor. Above all else, you want to make darn sure you hit what you are aiming at. That is why I carry a commander length 1911. It is the one gun that I can back the target WAYYYY back and still hit it every time. I did have to ge...

Re: Worst LTC Student?

I'm all for everyone getting their LTC but shouldn't at some point an instructor have some liability that they may be licensing a person that could do more harm than good? If a student can only put 10-15 shots on target in a controlled environment what do you think they will do in a stressful situa...

Re: TX DPS Trooper

My last interaction with a LEO was because of an outdated inspection sticker. I was guilty and I knew it. I did as you did and handed him my credentials and he wrote me a ticket. Traffic stop would have definitely been within the 7-10 minute range had he not been interested in what I carried... whic...
