I just don't think we need to be playing around with this kind of thing if not properly done. BTW, I am a HS teacher. This had better not happen in our school. They'd never hear the end of it.

100% Think about it. These faculty members had just been trained on what to do, and they still demonstrated they could not handle the drill. It's anecdotal, but to me, it says simply that some will be able to handle it and others won't. Therefore, allowing those willing to be sheepdogs to do so is the only viable recourse. Putting these sheepdogs through a drill like this could then have catastrophic consequenses.
