philip964 wrote:This morning on the Today show they had "Fact Checking" Donald Trump said crime was up in NYC. Fact Checking = False!!

Crime is down in NYC since 2010 is what they then said.

My memory Trump did not give a time frame when he said crime was up in NYC. I am sure he was pointing to a study that shows crime is up since 2014, since Furguson when the Obama and the Federal Government went to war against local police.

This is how the news is today, They do anything to help Hillary win.

Fact checking is just another way to lie now.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/nyc-officia ... 1451959203

From the January 4, 2016 article:
Overall, reports of such crimes fell 1.7% in 2015 from a year earlier, bringing the two-year drop to 5.8% since Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton took office....

But while crime in the city continued its historic downward trend, led largely by a drop in burglaries and stolen vehicles, three of the most serious crimes rose in 2015: homicides were up 5.1%, rapes 6.3% and robberies 2.1%. Also, crime increased in two of the city’s five boroughs: Manhattan and the Bronx.
And shortly before that press conference, Raymond Kelly, a former NYPD Commissioner, made waves contending that crime stats were being underreported by the City.

So you're slightly less likely to have your car stolen, but you're more likely to be raped or killed? Oh sure! Sign us up!

Given that distinction between "crime" and "violent crime," I'll give that fact-check to Trump.

Re: Trump vs. Clinton Round 1

The Donald faced 1.5 debate opponents, not one. Shame on Lester Holt.

That said, I think he allowed himself to go on the defensive too much. He had openings about the email scandal (one of the Wikileaks revelations very early today was previously undisclosed FBI evidence that everyone at Platte River Networks had access to Hillary's emails), and when attacked about Trump's past treatment of employees he didn't play the Benghazi card. Nothing on the Clinton Foundation and nothing on the pay-to-play accusations against Hillary.

I don't know if he was purposely trying to not come off as a crazed pit bull, but next debate I think he needs to be better prepared and never give up the offense.

Or maybe I need to run to the store now. I'm unlikely to be able to get to sleep.

And I refuse to visit Hillary Clinton's website to see how it's performing...other than timed, automatic deletion of emails, no doubt.

Re: Trump vs. Clinton Round 1

Okay. I'm getting really ticked off at Lester Holt. NBC Nightly News has been overtly biased for the past several months, and while I like Holt's demeanor and delivery, I'm now done with NBC Nightly News. They've lost a viewer. What the heck ever happened to at least marginal objectivity in journalism?

Yep. It's back. Maybe it was just temporary server overload. I got one screen indicating it was performing a browser check before I could get back on after a few refreshes.

Re: Trump vs. Clinton Round 1

And Lester Holt has no control over this thing, and is blatantly displaying his and NBC's bias by directly attacking Trump. Hitting him right now about his tax returns. Holt is letting Clinton run and trying to pin down Trump. :mad5

Somebody else go to https://www.donaldjtrump.com/ and tell me what you see?

Has Trump's official site been hacked for the debate?
