I believe you're likely correct about the reason for the rapid upswing in listings. Which is a very good thing for all concerned: increases the breadth and value of the database, and leaves you with absolutely no idle time on your hands.Russell wrote:I very much think a large part of it is just that there are more people aware of Texas3006.com now, so are reporting more. But you can't deny that some stores have posted signs after OC became active.
And while I have no material evidence to back it up, I think the increasing number of both signs going up has as much to do with companies who print and sell signs as it does with business owners having experience with or concern about open carriers. My bet is that--large organizations and perennial posters like hospitals and some chain stores/restaurants aside--the passing of the open carry law simply brought the whole signage issue to light.
Business owner John Doe had never really given concealed carry a thought because he'd never had any issues with it. John visits his buddy, Jim Smith, at his Timeless Timepieces and Taxidermy store and sees the honkin' new signs in the window. Conversation ensues, and Jim gives John the name of the place where he bought the signs. The sign company urges John to buy both signs--at a discount, of course--so he can make sure he has "all his bases covered." Then "ping!" we get a new Texas3006.com notification that another new sign has gone up at John's Cats, Canaries, & other Critters pet store.
