I wish Danny well in all the insurance rigamarole, and in getting back to business as usual. And I hope the perps get caught before the guns can circulate to places they don't belong.Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said they received a burglary alarm from the Shooters Station state Highway 105 west of Conroe at about 4:40 a.m. [December 14]
When deputies arrived, they found signs of forced entry, but no one was around.
"The building itself is pretty secure," store owner Danny Benois said. "There's no windows. There's only a front door and a back door. What they'd done was they cut the front door, the metal, and broke the glass and came inside the store."
The store has been compiling a complete inventory of the guns that were stolen. At least 50 assorted guns were taken, officials said.
"Ten or 12 probably shotguns and the rest are handguns," Benois said. "Upper-end quality guns. They went for the more popular guns because I'm thinking they're probably going to try to resell them."
