I'll try to help TraCoun out by offering a couple of quick answers. As a graduate of six of his NRA classes, I hope I'm right...but TraCoun will smack me down if I'm wrong.
First, all the NRA courses TraCoun conducts are ridiculously inexpensive. He obviously ain't in this for the money.

As to exactly how much, we'll have to wait for TraCoun; but I can say it will be a huge bargain for the value.
Second, there are no pre-reqs for this one. The BIT (Basic Instructor Training) itself is the prerequisite to all other NRA instructor courses. Gotta have this one in order to pursue any future instructor certification, including Basic Pistol.
Third, no shooting in this one. Bring pens and paper for copious notes, bring your humor (because you may have to wear the "W"), and bring your willingness to learn the NRA's common-sense method of teaching. There's free coffee and a soft-drink machine, but you may want to bring a couple of bottles of Ozarka and maybe a granola bar snack or two. You'll probably have 30 minutes to make a trip to Wendy's or McDonald's, but I choose to bring my own lunch and review the material rather than driving offsite.
If you're visiting from other areas and may not get back to PSC again soon, be sure to walk the grounds. It's a marvelous range, and I only wish it were about 60 miles closer to me.
