I don't think that's a bad choice. The Ultra CDP is actually a quarter of an inch shorter (as in height measured at 90-degrees from the barrel) than the EMP; the Kimber is 3/10ths of an inch longer. The EMP is thinner, but remove the ambi-safety on the Kimber and install thin-profile grips, and they're pretty much identical.
