Boy, do I miss PSC!

I'm still glad I moved to the Texas Hill Country to retire. But dang, I miss PSC! It was the best range I've ever encountered. Started there in the mid ninetys IIRC. I highly reccomend it. Well run and wide variety of ranges and programs available. Sure do need a good range around Wimberley. Last I ...

Re: Decision Made......Retirement!!

I retired in 2012 and don't regret it although I still enjoyed the job. I retired at 64. I never really considered that I would retire that early, but some family health issues made retirement more attractive.I ran the numbers and was surprised to find that I could do it. 3 years prior to retirement...

Re: Hays County Range Challenged

I sure hope this range opens soon. I miss shooting. I was fortunate to belong to PSC outside of Friendswood for many years and didn't know how lucky I was. When I retired to Wimberley, the lack of a range made me appreciate what I had lost.

Re: Texas DPS going 9mm?

I remember years ago when many departments went to 9mm from revolvers because of the higher capacity. After several years, many of those then changed to 40,357 sig or 45 after finding 9mm "inadequate". Are the newer rounds that much better or are we looking at another trend brought about b...

Texas DPS going 9mm?

If this is discussed elsewhere, pls forgive me. Another forum (Sigforum) has a post saying Tex DPS is going to 9mm 147 gr and dropping 357 Sig. Current Troopers will be grandfathered. This sounds like someone's pulling my leg. Anyone else aware of this?

Re: Best Shotgun Shells for Home Defense

I read an article over 20 years ago that advocated using #4 shot for home defense. The main concern was that in a house with residents in different rooms, 12 ga 00 buck would pose a danger due to over-penetration. The author presented a good case citing the increase in surface area ofa #4 shell over...

Re: San Antonio meet and greet set

I shamelessly promote her books whenever I can. Other than that, I know how long she researches her books (years). Historical accuracy is important to her. She started reseaching The Raven's bride " when she was in her 20s. Her second book ""Promised Lands" is better. I have watc...
