Re: No Gun Apartment Lease?

As others have said I would quit rattling the monkey cage and asking. Personally I wouldn't want anyone that worked at the apartments I lived at knowing I owned firearms. If you ask it would be a good sign that you own multiple firearms. If they are crooked they may have a friend come break in with the intent to steal them. Maybe not the front desk lady but what if she makes some little joke to a maintenance guy off the cuff on the lines of "Make sure you knock before going in there! That guys a gun nut!" Now the maintenance guy knows. At most of the places I lived the maintenance guy wasn't what I would call clean cut and honest looking and sometimes only spoke Spanish.

So really if nothing other than security and peace of mind I would stop asking. It outs you immediately. I mean who here walks into an office building or other environment, turns to someone who works there and says "Do you mind if I carry a firearms in here?". NOBODY does. We wait until we receive proper notification. If it's not proper notification we don't tell them how to do it right (at least we shouldn't be) we just keep on trucking. In your case that's what I would do. Think OPSEC (Operational Security for those who weren't in the military) and keep your business just that. YOUR BUSINESS. No need flaunting it out there that you are a gun owner unless it comes up. Even then in the case you provided I still wouldn't say anything as it wouldn't help anything and there clause has no teeth.
