And if some Federal regulation was written that made Islam illegal?

I guess the same applies to financial support or membership in an ISIS cell or a Chinese espionage ring, unless one personally committed some other crime.

Re: HB 349 - Make bump stocks illegal in Texas

A better question would be if it would constitute a taking under the Fifth Amendment requiring the government to pay you fair market value for it. I think it would. I predict that is what will end up being decided by SCOTUS - not whether or not gov’t has the authority to ban/control a certain type ...

Re: BATFE: Bump-Stock-Type Devices: Notice of proposed rulemaking

I’m actually not that upset about NRA failing to defend bumpstocks. Like I said in my previous post, I get it that there is no political will to defend these things, as much as I wish it weren’t the case. What I am a little irritated at the NRA for - and mind you, I am an Endowment Life Member - is...

That sure presents a different scenario than the news story. Shades of Tavai and Hale.

Situations like this are a great example why fines should be paid by the official violating the law, not the taxpayers. Fines are a start, but I'm not sure why they shouldn't face jail time for illegal acts that would land me in jail. They should. However, this story is about the Florida version of...

After the election I bought an AR pistol for less than $500. It's nothing fancy but it runs and provides some added comfort when I visit the human zoo.

If a building doesn't require a roof, then my fenced-in back yard is a building. Actually, it's a portion of a building because it's attached to my house. So if I'm in my house and see somebody enter my back yard, that's part of the same building, and I have all the presumptions afforded by the pena...

I met Rich Wyatt several years ago at the Whittington Center, before he had a show. He had a used car salesman vibe but I wouldn't have guessed he would sink this low. I feel sorry for his kids.

I'm not restricting this to the carrying of a firearm but for any reason. Do I not have the right to ask you to leave? As long as I'm not violating a discrimination law. That's exactly what they were doing at Will Rogers. The legislature passed a law saying a CHL can't be prohibited from carrying o...

You are not legally allowed to break down the door to my home, is that a bad law? No it's an excellent law. First responders working under exigent circumstances are legally allowed to trespass on your property and break down your door, is that a bad law? No it's an excellent law. That's a good poin...
