As cheap as it is I will probably be giving it a try as well. It's big enough for a weapon, spare magazine, wallet, ipod, cell phone, and maybe a few other small items.

Re: Holster for the XD-45 Compact
Yea, I have several Fobus holsters too, and they’ve worked fine for me. A couple are over 6 years old and still going…texas297 wrote:[ I am very familiar with the Fobus discussions on the list.
I've had one and have no problems with it.
Actually I am thinking of breaking down and getting a "man purse"/gadget bag. As much stuff as I carry around one it starting to make sense. That way I just throw the ole smoke wagon in it.
If you try the bag approach I would be interested in how it works for you. Sometimes when I’m custom baling hay I use a fanny pack to hold my pistol, ammo, wallet, and keys. It works out great. I don't have to worry about droping things while crawling around the baler

Re: Holster for the XD-45 Compact
Yes, the XD 45 compact fits in the SP-11 holster. Tension is adjustable by screws...texas297 wrote: My main question is does anyone know if the XD-45 "compact" will fit in the FOBUS SP-11 holster?
Some folks like Fobus, some think they're an absolute waste of money. Read some of the posts on the subject and draw your own conclusions.
As Skiprr said, it would be a good idea to forget about the OEM holster. They really aren't very good for carry. It allows way to much movement of the gun on the belt. It's probably ok for those that just use it at the range, but I would not feel comfortable using it for concealed carry...But that's just me. Many folks use clip draw or Mexican carry and do just fine. So it's really a personal preference.
But I think you would find a majority of CHL's wouldn't carry in the OEM holster.
You're right about the XD not being very "compact". I don't carry mine in the summer for that reason. Come winter and I start using more substantial cover garments though and the XD is a viable option for me.
