Re: Picked up a New Henry today!

You'll like it. I have one in 44 mag/spl and it shoots as good as it looks. It's great as a saddle gun and has replaced my 30/30 in that role.

Re: Good Samaratin Tendency

I'm one of those idiots that stops and helps others. I don't know why, there's just a flaw in my personality that I haven't been able to change.

Re: Using Deadly Force

I agree that it needs to be thought about and come to a decision one way of the other. Where I disagree is if you can't say you are willing to shoot someone you shouldn't carry a gun. Since by far the number of crimes stopped did not involve the citizen having to shoot the criminal, how you answer t...

Where is ammo on the priority list?

There have been many discussions, here and elsewhere on the web, regarding what’s the best caliber and bullet. The opinions seem to range from “Who cares, any bullet will work” to “Brand X is clearly the best and to carry anything else is just folly” and everything in-between. This appears to be dri...

Re: Schumer calls for horse "no ride" list in wake of terror

I found one of the responses at the bottom of the article funny: " Well, considering your statement "al Qaeda was considering attacks on high-profile dates", don't you think the No-Fly/No-Ride list should be expanded with a No-Eat List? Dates may be the next terrorist weapon; didn't a...

Re: Using Deadly Force

I'm a bit confused. Why else would someone go through all the trouble of getting a CHL? Whether to take a human life or not is a very personal decision. Some will decide yes, some will decide no...it's their individual call. But even if the decision is "I will not shoot another human" the...

Re: AK Jammed today

I'm really going to make your week then.... not only did I have an AK jam on me, but the Sunday before last I broke a Glock 30! Slide catch spring broke and slide slid right off the gun! :confused5 How much do I have to pay to keep you away from my guns? Funny... I've got my mojo back, was at the r...

Re: Glock 26 AND Glcck 19 question ?

I have both the G19 and G26. I haven't noticed any recoil issues with the 26 and neither has my wife. On the carry side, I do find it a little easier to conceal, but keep in mind it's still a double stack so it does stick out more when compared to single stack weapon. Accuracy for me was improved co...

Re: Had a problem with some ammo today...

The increasing number of issue reports on Wolf and Tula ammo suggest there has been a change in manufacturing processes and quality control at the factory. Heartland Patriot: Excaliber hit the nail on the head. Wolf was having problems with their manufacturer and switched over to a new one. You pro...

Re: Getting into the world of ARs

But in the end, unless you're planning on stocking a lot of 5.56 yourself, I think it is very poor planning to count on supplies you THINK you'll be able to scavenge, buy, or steal in the end. Anything you want to have in a bad situation, you honestly need to already own. I couldn't agree more... I...

Re: Getting into the world of ARs

Work out in your mind the scenarios where you feel you would use this weapon. Pay particular attention to distances and whether there would be a need for some level of concealment. If it's primarily a defensive weapon, I would suspicion that the majority of shots would be between contact distance an...

Where were you taught to keep your finger prior to releasing the safety? Is it inside the trigger guard?

Re: Video: Guy shoot himself on leg while drawing from holst

It's possible he just has a training mistake... I've seen other folks do this. They use the safety on a 1911 as an on/off switch and keep their finger inside the trigger guard. He stated that he had been practicing with a different retention holster where the release is in the same general location ...

Re: Video: Guy shoot himself on leg while drawing from holst

Well I think the video is a fake...everyone knows that if you hit someone in the leg with a 45, the whole leg gets blown off and the person dies from massive trauma and shock :biggrinjester: What we do know from the video is the guy shot himself in the leg while practicing draws at contact distance ...
