The Wait
It took me almost four months to get my first CHL after I mailed the application package. That was in 1996. I called a couple of times (this was WAY before E-mail was prevalent) and was told that they were swamped with applications, and that they would get to mine in due time. I finally got it, but ...

They have the 'No concealed handguns' signs, ' under authority of Texas concealed handgun license law, (Texas Civil Statutes, Article 4413 (29ee) )'. I have looked at the statutes and I don't get their reasoning. They don't seem to fit into any of the "prohibited places" categories. They d...

I agree the initial cost may be prohibitive for some folks, but I am not buying the idea that spending 8 to 10 hours on classroom and range training is too much of a time-commitment. Capital B, Capital S! A license to carry a concealed handgun is not something to be taken lightly. A person gets lice...

Interesting story
It just goes to show that if left to their own devices, liberal do-gooders will let their true nature show. When I read this story I was reminded of the late Carl Rowan, the nationally syndicated columnist and staunch anti- handgun advocate. Although Mr. Rowan believed that no private citizens shoul...

For what it's worth,
The first two times I did all the paperwork for my CCL (first time "original", and second time "renewal'), I did all the leg-work myself. I took the required class at my gun club for a small fee (30 bucks), and I took care of the photos, the fingerprints, the notary, and all the rest ...

It's Worth It!
Texas' cost of CCL license may be a little higher than other states. But, heck, look at how much bigger place you get to "carry" in. I wouldn't mind if the CCL was free. But being from the 'old school', I know there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. And if it costs me $125, $150, to hav...

Thanks, Stephen.
That was good info to have. I think I'm gonna have to get

Has anybody had much experience with this ammo? I only learned about
it a couple of weeks ago, and I am anxious to try some.
It seems like such a simple concept, I wonder why no one has done
it before now.

Hi, everybody. I guess I'm the newest guy on this block. I'm a member of The Firing Line (where I found this site) and The High Road. I enjoy them both, but this site hits me really close to home, in more ways than one, so I am looking forward to checking it out daily. I am; Male 55 married,33 years...
