IMHO, that's simply bad parenting.
Will, what the heck were you thinking?

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
It's a form of ad hominem. Typically, that means attacking the other person instead of the strong argument. However, a variant involves someone puffing themselves up because their position is weak. The idea is the audience will forget that the argument is not supported by facts or logic, and consider it favorably solely because the speaker claims to be an Ivy League graduate, a Ranger, or something else they think the audience will respect.sjfcontrol wrote:What does all this military stuff have to do with the subject?

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
After GZ's school records were admitted as character evidence, I would like to see a request to get TM's school disciplinary records entered into evidence on the same grounds. Either the defense gets to contrast "wannabe cop" with "wannabe gang member" or there's an extra helping of proof of judicial misconduct.esxmarkc wrote:Maybe I'm biased but from what I have seen of the prosecution's performance the defense could just stand up Friday morning and say "Your honor, the defense rests." for the win.Judge just said the prosecution plans to rest today, and start the defense on Friday.
However, I think you're right that the prosecution witnesses have already introduced enough reasonable doubt to convince a jury, as long as there's no jury intimidation or other tampering.

It sounds like Zimmerman was right when he told 911 that the suspicious guy looked like he was on drugs.
I pray the judge, prosecutor and their accomplices burn for eternity for their sins.

They're guilty the moment they commit the crime. They're innocent if they didn't.

I bet Angela Corey and Eric Holder burn in the afterlife for sins that includes bearing false witness.

Especially if the cops charged him with assault for starting the fight.jocat54 wrote:Now, since hypotheticals are fun, what if TM happened to have survived this whole shindig and was able to provide his own testimony? That would be interesting, huh? [ /quote]
WOW! That would really start things up.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
After reading that, I think we need to change the stupid laws that let a special olympics prosecutor substitute their prejudice for facts and maliciously prosecute someone for political gain. Florida should repeal the idiot that let her "stand her ground" and prosecute someone even though all of the eyewitnesses and physical evidence in the affidavit is consistent with the defendant's story that it was self defense. That's what I think.57Coastie wrote:The Houston Chronicle has an OpEd this morning by a Texas law professor. Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
Does anyone know what gun and type of ammunition Zimmerman was carrying? Whatever else you think about the shooting, It sounds like it was a one shot stop.
In addition, it sounds like Martin expired before the EMTs arrived, even though multiple neighbors had 911 on the phone when the shot was fired. If you haven't already, maybe this is a good time to think about ability to render self-aid until the EMTs come.
