Re: S.O.B.
When I carry my PT809 OWB, I use a DeSantis holster and use the belt loops that maximize the forward cant. I normally carry at 4:00 strong side, but I can and do slide it back to closer to 5:30, practically SOB. It carrys that way grip-up, so a draw from that position does NOT sweep my body, but com...

Re: 9mm Handguns
I picked up a Taurus PT809 over Christmas for 299.00 (Academy), and I have to say I love it. It's a nice SA/DA combo of 1911 and plastic, because it has a hammer. You can carry Condition One with safety on, or Two and have the DA option if/when you need it. It is a bit big for carry, but not bad in ...

Re: An Idea for a Kalashnikov Pistol
Here's a pic of mine. I have no ideas of any kind of "carrying" - it's just a fun piece to shoot.
Also handy for Zombies, I guess!

Mine just went "mailed" status today as well! Of course, to offset that good feeling is the fact I got laid off - or, as we call it in the telecom installation biz, "surplused"... :cryin ________________________ 01/07 - Online app and payment submitted to DPS 01/13 - L1 fi...

OK, let me try this... CHL on the way (hopefully! :waiting: ) - for now this is my "around the house" EDC. Breaking in the holster and adjusting my wardrobe in anticipation of the Big Day. :biggrinjester: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t298/eburcham/PT809.jpg ________________________ 0...

Welcome, firediver! You'll love it here, lots of great info. Nice to know that any questions you have about anything will definitely be addressed by someone here - no "reinventing the wheel"! Took my CHL class on 01/21 as well, from Russel and Debbie Murphy. Now in "Manufacturing"...

Re: Andy Griffith - Times have changed
Was watching Andy Griffith and it was the one where Opie wants to win his dad a razor at the carnival. Looks like he was shooting a Winchester 61 Pump .22. Imagine that, live fire at a carnival!! The Horror!! The Horror!!!: : : I can personally remember shooting galleries at the Fai...

Help - Holster Sizing, Taurus PT-809
Wondering if any of you good folks have an idea of what current pistol is close to the Taurus PT-809 in size? Seems there are still very few that include that in their sizing charts, as I guess it's still fairly "new". Looking at Don Hume, both IWB and OWB. I would think it would be close ...

Not Lost! Woot!!
Finally! Was having the "OMG, it got lost in the mail" nightmares, but a check online today showed a sea of green, noting the receipt of the package. Now the wait continues... :anamatedbanana ________________________ 01/07 - Online app and payment submitted to DPS 01/13 - L1 fingerprinting...

Re: A Week To Deliver to DPS?
Thanks, y'all... I knew I was just getting itchy britches.
Love this forum, great info, and fantastic folks here! Been carrying my piece around the house, and really the thing I have the most trouble getting used to is having my wallet in my left rear pocket instead of the right.

A Week To Deliver to DPS?
Probably just anxious, but mailed my package last Monday, the 23rd. Put more postage than probably needed, and handed it to the post office folks instead of dropping it in a mailbox. Status on DPS web page still says "awaiting" my package to them.
Should I be concerned yet?

Yep, this should be fun for a few weeks, sorting all the tack and latigo out.
I presently have a Taurus PT-809, thinking about something along the lines of the Tucker IWB holster - any thoughts?
I'm kind of a small guy, 5'8"/160, and no longer a "flat-belly"...
