Re: AR ideas?
the 14.5 route is just me trying to get as short of a carbine as possible. So unless I just have something backwards or wrong please let me know. It's going to be a 1" or less difference in overall length (also factor in buttstock length if you're counting fractions of an inch). More important...

I'm running this configuration myself, but I have to ask -- why are you interested in that configuration?1s1k52 wrote:In a perfect world I want a 14.5 inch with the flashider making it the 16" legal carbine.

Re: Want to learn more about AR rifles.
5.56 and .223 are slightly different - a rifle chambered for 5.56mm can also fire .223, but a rifle marked .223 should not be used with 5.56 (5.56 is a slightly higher pressure round). There is a more detailed explanation here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.56%C3%9745mm_NATO#5.56_mm_NATO_versus_.2...

Re: AR thinking & Doing my homework.
If you like a collapsible stock Windham doesn't stake the castle nut that holds the buffer tube to the receiver. If you just want a hobby grade AR they're ok but if you want a rifle for social work I'd go with something like a Colt or BCM. Someone mentioned ar15.com but I'd go to http://www.m4carbi...

Re: Help Fine Tuning/Improving Flawed Handgun Techiques/Skil
Tiger Valley hosts Tue evening classes at Elm Fork for $65. You walk away with a tremendous amount of info (and feedback). Range time is important, but you can get a tremendous amount of benefit from dry fire drills 10-15min/day. You missed the pistol trigger control class last month (it'll come by ...

I'm not a religious guy, but that is damn true. Some dogs are more human than some humans.RPBrown wrote:John 15:13--No greater love than to give your life for a friend.
Really holds true here.

Re: Looking for a GOOD Chinese Restaurant (Metroplex)
I don't eat much Chinese, but if you like Thai, my favorite Thai place is Best Thai at Belt Line and Midway in Addison. It's across the street from the Sam's Club. It's appropriately named as it's the best Thai I've had in DFW. The only better Thai food I've had was in Calgary, Canada. I believe th...

First Chinese BBQ is GTG, they have locations in Richardson, Arlington, Plano, and Carrollton.
I also like:
1- J.S. Chen in Plano, I like their crab fried rice and dim sum; and
2- Yao Fuzi in Plano

Re: Coworkers CHL brother stops armed robbery
Can anybody tell how many shots the old guy fired? From the second article, he got only 3 hits (2 in one BG, 1 in the other BG). And his last shot, one-handed and out the door, had me cringe a little -- did he have a good sight picture and know what was around and beyond his target? I'm sure his ad...
