Re: April 2009 Applications

I got on tonight, as my compulsive behavior dictated, and what did my eyes spy?

Now to wait by the mailbox like so many others before me and you know who you are. :cheers2:

I submitted my app about the same time as you did and (like you) I check every day and (like you) checked this morning and the status was "processing". Your post encouraged me to check once more time - and (like you) "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". What took you so long to get OUR CHLs issued?

mkosmo wrote:Still waiting on mine, hoping it will be any day now. 117 days since receipt, 76 days since they stated it was processing online as of today. Never had to resubmit prints, photos, or anything. I'm 21, only lived in Harris county apart from one year of college in Indiana. I don't know why an easy background check would take so long - my record is 100% clean!
Who actually does the Harris Co. background checks?

I've already decided to return the bag and get either a "small" or "medium"...the XS is just too tiny for carrying my 92F and anything else...and since it's a "messenger bag", I think I should at least be able to carry messages. Well, you get the idea. Maybe the next size up that will allow me to also carry a notebook for Medic School...
i've been using a medium size timbuk2 bag for a laptop and other office stuff for almost 2 yrs. It really holds up, but i'm not sure how easy it would be to get to a handgun if you're in a real hurry.

I also have a Maxpedtion COLOSSUS i plan to use for CC when a IWB won't work. The digi camo look does kinda scream gun, mall ninja or just plain goose.

Re: April 2009 Applications

I was really excited when I got something from the DPS - WOW - a PIN # in just 2 weeks! Wrong - just a reminder to renew my TDL <sigh> Oh well, back to the ammo hunt. I did go ahead order a Tucker Silent Thunder IWB last week. I have heard great things about their products and service.
