Re: Beretta Nano 9mm Range Report (first 440 rounds)

Just took the new Nano to the range-- shot it straight out of the box, no cleaning or breaking down before firing. I was very impressed with how it shot, nice groups with very manageable recoil (less than I expected). The trigger pull is longer than I expected although very smooth and much better than the LC9 in my opinion. I was comparing it to my P238 and also practicing on my Springfield XD40 (full sized) with my son so I only put about 150 rounds through the Nano, standard Remington FMJ and Winchester "Training FMJ" that simulates their JHP. Happy to report no misfeeds/misfires, very smooth cycling and I thought the grip was fine (for a pocket gun) although I do have smaller than average hands. Weight and balance felt good. I did shoot a little quicker with the P238 but I expected that given the lighter and shorter trigger, which I don't mind since the P238 has a 1911-style safety and the Nano doesn't have a safety. It is bigger and a little heavier than the P238 so I think it's about as big a gun that's realistically a "pocket" gun for me. Hard to decide between the 2-- P238 smaller/lighter, quicker trigger, safety, and prettier vs Nano bigger caliber (9mm), very smooth/melted-type exterior, less conspicuous (all black), cheaper ammo. I will say that the Nano shot better--for me-- than the LC9, PM9, Kimber Solo and PF9, although that is simply personal preference/feel (I also like the feel of Springfield XD's better than Glocks for my hands). This gun is pretty much just what I was looking for-- it feels like my old Springfield XDsc in a slimmer, smoother, single stack body. I'm not sure anyone NEEDS 2 pocket guns but what the heck, it's Christmas! :txflag:

Re: Beretta Nano 9mm Range Report (first 440 rounds)

Great post; always nice to get a fresh range report "out of the box". I just picked up a Nano to replace/coexist with my Sig P238-- love the P238 but looking for a pocket 9mm. Will hopefully do some shooting this week (if I can stop watching football long enough) and report back.
