Re: Police Academy Adventures
Congratulations on your hard work and achievements. I find it very interesting to follow your journey through the ETSU Police Academy. Keep us posted all the way to the end. I retired in 2008 after 41 years of teaching music at the university level. After retiring, I became very interested in target...

Re: Has this happened to you? Someone calls a LEO?
I have a different problem. After completing my local Citizen's Police Academy and doing ride-a-longs, the local police know me pretty well and know that I carry concealed. In public, they are very likely ask me,"What are you carrying today?" It is hard to keep my concealed carrying a secr...

Re: Cruz: GOP Senators Yelled at Me for Supporting Gun Filib
Senator Cruz is a rare breed of politician with principles, who is actually doing what he said he would do in his campaign speeches. I only wish we could clone him. He has my wholehearted support. He is one of the 2nd Amendment's best friends. In time, he might make a very good Presidential candidate.

EMarquez: My wife and I have a similar approach to finances. We will celebrate our 48th anniversary in August and the system has worked well for us over the years. We have checkbooks that are her's, mine, and ours. We both have access to all accounts. The "Ours" account is for daily living...

Re: TX - duty to retreat?
My "alert e-mail" from Alice Tripp (Texas State Rifle Association) arrived yesterday. It only takes a total of 10-15 minutes to send individual e-mails to the House Committee Members and your local representative. When it comes to our opposition to ill conceived new gun control legislation...

Re: TX - duty to retreat?
I wrote a letter to everyone on the judicial committee as well as my senator and representative asking that this bill be defeated. It does not hurt to keep the fire under their feet. This is a bad bill. http://www.house.state.tx.us/committees/committee/?committee=220&session=83" onclick=&qu...

Re: Traditional Shaving (Safety Razors / Straight Razors)
First of all, your choice of the Jagger razor and brush are excellent. I own both. I highly recommend Proraso shaving cream. It is inexpensive but provides great lather, excellent hydration, and a superb shave. I have always used a double-edge razor to shave. Five years ago, at the age of 65, I deve...

Re: "American Sniper" author murdered at Rough Creek Lodge
What a tragedy. I read his book and watched several of his tv interviews. He was a true American Hero.
I am so saddened for his wife and children.

Re: Factory sportswear versus concealed means concealed
A couple of weeks ago at lunch, I was wearing a new dark blue Hoodie jacket with "Ruger" beautifully embroidered on it. As I was leaving the restaurant, I bumped into our local Chief of Police, with whom I am good friends. Rather loudly, he asked, "So what Ruger are you carrying today...

I have always understood the term "head on" to mean that the vehicles were facing each other when they hit. Sorry for the misunderstanding. No Problem! It was confusing the way it was stated. I should have written "To avoid hitting the truck's side" instead of "To avoid hit...

Glad you are mostly ok. Let us know what the specialist says. Believe me, now is the time for action. I hope all goes well for you! Back in 1993, I was bicycling in a breakdown lane when a large semi pulled a right turn directly in front of me. To avoid hitting the truck head-on, I laid my bicycle ...

I feel for you! The exact same thing happened to me in November of 2010. It stinks. In my case, a young drug addict spotted me getting out of a Mercedes. Followed me in and broke into only my locker. Fortunately, the Police were great and arrested him and his girlfriend accomplice two weeks later an...

I am not sure where you get your info on Boehner's "budget fight" but you are not reading the same stuff I am because he rolled over and showed his belly to bummer. Anygunanywhere You are correct! I think I was being a little lenient in that Boehner admitted that he had made a mistake and...
