Re: I did that. Let's go Brandon 2022

Amazing, some of the stuff HOAs can do. I had a good friend, a retired police officer, who bought a brand new $80,000 dually pickup truck. It was a couple inches too tall to fit in his garage, so he parked it in his driveway. The HOA cited him for having a "work vehicle" parked on his property. He blew them off. Came home a couple of days later and they had towed it off. He ended up buying a Hummer, which was "OK" with the HOA.

Another one - after 2 days of pouring rain, a couple of wild onions shot up about 15 inches in a resident's front yard. She was fined $75 because it exceeded the HOA's 8 inch yard growth limit. She protested that she couldn't get out and mow the yard in the rain. Their reply, quote: "why not, it won't hurt you to get out and sweat a little bit."

One more.... a semi-rural subdivision, heavily wooded with oak trees, that didn't allow any discharge of weapons. That's not unusual, but their "list" included archery! The lots were 5 to 15 acres, very few residents could even see their neighbors. But you weren't even allowed to set up a little archery target in your back yard and shoot arrows at it. FWIW, the HOA officials were all liberal California women who had moved to Texas.

The list goes on. Our HOA is pretty nice, but some others are absolute nightmares, I swear.
