As I previously posted, I bought an AR15 there a few months back....and had an overall net positive experience. Nothing to write home about, but nothing negative, which in my book, for any gun dealer, that is pretty good.
Went there again last weekend because I was looking to solve a particular scope ring problem I was having with my new deer rifle. After hitting most of my usual haunts, and a few of the box stores, I wound up heading to Tactical because they are close to my house. Now the specialize more in zombie hunting rifles, not deer hunting rifles, and so I didn't have very high expectations. Turns out, I wound up leaving there empty handed, but I was actually blown away by the level of service I got while I was there. They dug through that whole store to find something that would work, and when they couldn't find it, they spent another 10 minutes talking to me about other options, and who might have what I need.
No sale that day, but I think they are on the right track, and I will be back again. As far as the range, sounds like the pricing might be on the "premium" side, but I for one don't mind paying more for a quality facility there are not the safety issues I have witnessed at other nearby ranges....

Re: New West Houston Shooting Range
Have heard conflicting reviews thus far. From the sounds of it, when complete, Tactical will have a pretty maxed out setup....which is encouraging. I have only been to their store once, and it was just after the new location opened. I was picking up an EBR, and was in and out in no time. They were friendly to me, but I have heard a lot of mixed reviews. I live really close by, so I am staying optimistic that when they do open their range(s), that it will be a positive experience. For whatever reason, I have generally found that the overall/average service levels at gun stores to be somewhat lacking if you don't have a relationship with them.
