Re: school grounds question
Just for discussions sake, what would happen if you are traveling through a state (armed and with a valid CHL from a recipricol state) and as you are driving you enter a school zone, get pulled over by the police. Have you violated the GFZSA because you traveled by the school within the the 1000' b...

Re: Pleasure Pier Galveston
Pardon my ignorance, but does this not count as an amusement park? Are they not prohibited or am I confused? Amusement parks are not off limits UNLESS properly posted with 30.06. (i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 3...

Re: Red sign but no info on TABC
License number MB706062? Blue sign. Wow. Ok. Thanks for that. Don't know why I couldn't find it. That's good info. They had a red sign posted when I went there the other day. I actually left and didn't give them my business because of it, but later I wondered about it since it seemed like it would ...

Re: Red sign but no info on TABC
I have found that sometimes the TABC database can be finicky. Try searching with a few wildcards. Also the business name on the sign might be different than on the license, such as a corporate name. I think you can do a search by area too. I'll try some other searches. I got the info directly off t...

Red sign but no info on TABC
I went to a restaurant the other day that had the "red" sign posted at the door as you walk in. It confused me since it is a restaurant, but, they do have a bar inside. I went on the TABC from a link here on the forum but when I put in the info, I get ***No Records Found***. Any ideas? Jus...

Re: school grounds question
I assume you have a CHL, correct? If not, then having a gun in your car while picking your kids, you are in violation of the GFSZ, which is a federal law. Yes, my wife and I both have our CHL. The reason I asked this was because I went to pick up my daughter the other day at school for a doctor app...

school grounds question
I know this has been beat to death in various topics and at all levels, but I am confused about a specific issue... Here on the forum, it has been said that schools are prohibited, but on the premises, which is the building only. But below it the code says "premises" AND "grounds"...

Re: American Bank Center...??
Went to the American Bank Center and carried with no issues. No 30.06 that I could find. The building is owned by the city also and no metal detectors or wands. FYI in case anyone else needs to know later on.

American Bank Center...??
Tried a search and found one post but no responses. Does anyoner know if the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi is 30.06 posted? I know the Center's website says weapons are prohibited and it goes on to list types of weapons, which incluides firearms. But the website also says that if caught wit...

campus carry question/concern
I came across a story the other day about the VA Tech shooting a few years ago and how pro-gun people are using things like that (and other cases) to lobby the right to carry on campus. But it got me to thinking...according to a study I read, there are 23 states that allow it, or more precisely, lea...

Re: Question about schools....
Yeah, I do not plan on informing them about proper sign posting. I have spoken twice with the owner (about other things) and she is one of those ladies that thinks she is better than everyone else. I don't like her at all. I am kind of stuck because where I live they are the one place that works wit...
