I don't think any bills I cared about have a snowball's chance any longer, so I'm happy to see somebody stand up to Straus and throw a wrench in the works.

Besides, I think more Texas agencies should get reviewed by the Sunset Commission, especially if they get cut to save the taxpayers money. A guy can dream, right?

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

They didn't vote on the floor. That's true.

But Beruity proposed asking each candidate at election time if they would co-author or sponsor a bill similar to HB 560. I think that is unnecessary and possibly misleading. What politicians say to get our votes doesn't always match what they do in office. A better indication of where they stand is whether or not they signed on as a co-author or sponsor to HB 560 this session.

Why bother when we already know who did or didn't sign on to HB 560 this year?

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

Politicians who don't vote for HB 560 this year make it very difficult to vote for them next year.

Twenty years later we still can't carry concealed handguns lots of places unlicensed people can carry a riot shotgun or AR-15.

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

Don't let any of them get away with lying about running out of time. Especially the ones who voted for Straus to be Speaker.

Whatever happens this session, Remember in November.
