This is a trial balloon I hear floated by the EPA every couple of years. It's a standard tactic - ban all lead ammo as "harmful to the environment," and ban lead-free ammo as "armor-piercing," then Hey Presto! you have a ban on ALL ammo! But it's not something the president can enact directly (even though I wouldn't put it past him to try), only through the proxy of dubiously-legal bureaucratic regulations.

It's something they keep trying, hoping that one day we won't be paying attention. As long as we are, it's not a threat. But remember, they ARE out to get us, and they ARE out to take all guns / ammo away, by any means they can get away with. Whether it's ammunition restrictions, "assault weapon" bans, ever-expanding lists of felonies, or "mental health evaluations," they ARE out to get us.
