Re: Mitt Romney talks about gun control in 2007

That may be true but Obama is going to take away what you already have if he is re-elected. I am not crazy about Romney but he is better than Obama. Voting for any third-party candidate is a noble idea but you might as well vote for Obama. People don't care about your "rebel" vote, nor doe...

Re: Cooler heads did not prevail w/me today. (no gun)

Some of the things people do while driving really tick me off. However, since I have been carrying I have been much more conscious of my response. As one who carries we have the responsibility to eliminate any appearance that a confrontation was initiated by us. If you do find yourself in such a sit...

Re: Can You Shoot to Protect Property in TEXAS

would you confront the criminal if you were NOT armed? If not, then perhaps you shouldn't be confronting them at all.
A-R, that is good advice in my mind.

Re: Applied last night

AEA, thought about that but wasn't sure. Didn't want to hijack the thread but it raised a question.

Newbie myself. Gonna go for my Wally Walk. :hurry:

Re: Applied last night

Cant wait to walk into a gun show and out with a new carry gun! I've got an XD9 subcompact now, but want something smaller that I can carry in the pocket of my dockers. Is it ok to carry at a gun show? I am trying to remember if they post 30.06 signs or just signs saying no loaded weapons allowed. ...

Re: September 2011 Applications

Hey kings brew, congratulations give it about 4 days and you'll have the card.... :txflag: :leaving License arrived on Saturday while I was out of town. I found it interesting that the envelope wasn't sealed. Only a piece of transparent tape holding the flap down. About 49 days from online applicat...

Re: Leaving town - license in the mail

Thanks for your responses. I saw this in the Arkansas law and thought that it would cover carrying it in the vehicle. This is exactly my situation. I am not one to engage in a fight. I have walked away from many possible conflicts. I like a good argument but haven't found much worth fighting over, e...

Leaving town - license in the mail

I am leaving town today for Arkansas. My license is in "mailed" status. I will be leaving before my mail arrives today. I am taking my weapon but will NOT carry outside of the car unless to take it into the hotel room. My question is what to do if for some reason an officer stops me. I kno...

Re: September 2011 Applications

I applied online Sept. 10. They lost most if not all applications on that day. I found out later the next week. Finally got fingerprints scheduled on Sept. 26th. As of yesterday my status is license in "manufacturing". From appearances I should be receiving in a few days. Leroy :thumbs2: ...

Re: DPS Processing Times

I submitted my application online on Sept. 10, 2011. Mailed the information on Sept. 11th. After trying to get a fingerprint appointment all week, I finally called the CHL office. I got an email with the trace number but that number is NOT in the system. Some glitch apparently occurred on Sat. and s...

Online applicatons Sept. 10, 2011

There were issues with the online registration on Sat. Sept. 10th., including mine I was told there are 20 or so applications whose data did not get into the system. To resolve it you need to call them to request the IT group get your information into the system. The phone number is 512-424-7293, M-...
