I'm completely baffled by your post.
I build habitat for critters to live with brush from fences, pasture and elsewhere away from the house. More food sources away from the house than around the house. At least that's my rationale for the brush piles. It's either too wet or too dry to burn 'em.

I don't care for snakes in or close to my house either. that's why I leave strategic trash piles around my property. the neighbors are none too thrilled about the "aesthetics" of the place, but, hey I was here first.
