I stopped by one of our LGSs in the Hill Country and started looking at potential candidates. There were only two modern sporting rifles in .308 on the shelf (and not many in .223/5.56) so I made a command decision to buy it on the spot without approval from the spousal unit.
. To my complete astonishment she thought that was a good idea - she understood the anti-gun possibilities with four more years of Glorious Leader, so this was an easy sell.
