Apparently lots of us. Wife and I are both waiting and her fingerprints failed a second scan, so they just need to do a "name" search on her
Is there anything else I can do to speed this up?
A couple of folks have had good results with an email to the governor. I considered that but decided his office is busy enough without me adding to the workload :txflag:

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

Called DPS yesterday morning to ask again about my "fingerprints not received" and I was in the call queue for 17 minutes, heard a ring - finally blissful relief from the lame on-hold music. Then the call abruptly ended without getting to talk to anybody :grumble - 17 minutes of my life I'll never reclaim. Called back and the wait was 21 minutes, but a real human answered. After 21 more minutes of listening the repeated synthesized "music" I was really starting to like it, so thank goodness that stopped when a human voice came on the line "rlol" . (Maybe iTunes has that music?)

He could see a request was sent to the IT department (I called 10 days earlier), so he wasn't going to do another one. Told him I was getting concerned about the 90 day window expiring and he said not to worry about the window running out since this was "their" problem with the fingerprints. He said fingerprints were running two-three weeks from the day they were scanned, so hang in there. Okay, whatever you say bud.

Dear wife's fingerprints were rejected twice and the DPS web page is still indicating "not received", so he sent a request to IT.

We had somebody say that starting recently teachers, nurses, physicians, child care, whoever now must have their fingerprints recorded with the state, so maybe the system is overwhelmed.

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

I wouldn't mind helping them, but only if I can telecommute :txflag: .

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

Just got off the phone with the TX CHL guy and gave him my TCN number (only about a 15 minute wait for a human.) Same story as others have mentioned - he will send a request to their IT shop to pull the prints. He mentioned they expect to have the IT issue resolved in three weeks  .

I retired from AT&T's corporate IT department and I can tell you heads would have rolled over a long running and unresolved issue like this, but then we weren't a government entity. I suppose the penalty for poor and/or incompetent performance in government is... nothing.

I asked the guy about my wife failing the second scan and he said they will do a 2nd failure search - I suppose using her name/SSN/birth date. So she is finished with fingerprinting.

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

She bought some special hand lotion and I have been doing the dishes for a week (we don't have an automatic washer), but she flunked again this morning. She said one complete hand failed this time  and it was a different L1 guy running the scanner.

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

Actually the guy was quite good and spent quite a bit of time with her. To my amazement, her fingers look like they are sanded - if you look at her prints closely, they are smooth with few ridges. :???:

Re: Problems with DPS receiving fingerprints

Wife and I got fingerprinted last Thursday. Hers were rejected - she received an email from L1 that DPS didn't like them. This was no suprise as 5 or 6 were rejected by the scanner. She goes again tomorrow for another try. We are both listed in the database as "waiting on fingerprints." Not sure if L1 rejected the prints before they got to DPS, or if DPS really did receive the prints and they kicked them back. Sigh..
