I know you said "the ammo is correct", but just to check, the pointy end of the bullet is pointing forward, right? :rolll Sorry - just had to ask. Sounds like some mechanical obstruction to the gun - if it were mine, it'd be on the way to Ruger without much thought about it. Have you tried manually putting a bullet in and seeing if you can see where it gets stuck?

FWIW, I bought my son a Commander sized SR1911 last winter, and he's put quite a number of rounds through it. He's had no problems with it -- he holsters it in a fully kydex (as opposed to a kydex-leather hybrid) and isn't rubbing the sights against anything - no problem with the sights getting loose, yet. His experience has even convinced me that, funds permitting sometime, I may add one of them to my menagerie.
