Re: Glock 30 opinions please

I carry a Gen 2.5 Glock 30. It's comfortable in my hand(s) and I shoot it well. If you haven't shot it or others, I'd suggest you find a range with a variety of handguns for rent and try several out to find your fit. I tried several makes in 9mm, .40 and .45 before settling on the G30. It's what fit me best at the time and I've been happy with it. Cost a little more up front but I have the gun I wanted. My brother wanted to love his Glock 30 but ultimately the grip was too large for him and he sold it. He tried the Glock 36 when it came out, didn't shoot it as well, sold it and finally settled on a Glock 19 and a 1911 or three.

My G30 has consumed all sorts of ammo without issue. I carry Winchester RA45T and shoot two or three magazines every 2-3 months. It's hotter ammo so I need a periodic reminder that it's not going to be as butter smooth as when shooting plinking ammo.

If you don't have one, get a stiff gun-belt and well-made holster to support your gun. Been happy with a Comp-tac Mtac with c-clips on a Wilderness Instructor belt. If I'm going to be active, I also employ some inexpensive suspenders under my cover-shirt to help out in that regard as my hips are a bit narrower than my waist-line where I wear my belt.
