Re: Can You Shoot to Protect Property in TEXAS
The last time I looked, 9.42 said nothing about "replaced" so maybe Barnsch should read the law. (3) he reasonably believes that: (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; Ok, sorry. "Recovered" not "replaced." I won't split that hai...

Re: Can You Shoot to Protect Property in TEXAS
Definitely on an arson or attempted arson (esp MY HOUSE). Crack houses may be burned at will. The way our class was taught, if there is a "way" to replace the property, then shooting is not an option. Bamsch indicated that either insurance or just having a job might, in the eyes of a jury,...

Re: WWYD???
DPS has a video posted that illustrates the "what if" ambiguity very well.

Re: ADVICE: 3 Things a New CHL Owner Should Know?
Most of this has been said in forms above. My take, just 3... okay... 1. No one needs to know you have a license, or when you have chosen to carry or not. 2. If the weapon comes out (huge decision, and a serious line must have been crossed), it goes in to its intended use immediately. No chatting, n...

Extra Long Shirts
Howdy Y'all. Wasn't sure where in forum this would go, so guessing here? I am ever in search of long shirts, dress and t-shirts. If you are tall, you know the issues. And if you are on this forum, you know the other issue. Found these, very comfy T's, a little pricey, but really long! http://www.dul...

Re: College Classes
Lone Star Community College (north side of Houston) has had a Tx CHL class intermittently... not sure it this was the last time (Spring 2009) it was offered.

Re: ABC news controlled "study" - Wow!
This video sequence was shown at my instructor training. Sgt. Bamsch pointed to it as meaningless insofar as providing any evidence (proof!!?? Ha!) that a person with a concealed weapon could do anything - or nothing, as the news wanted it to show. Completely rigged. I hope that it makes it on to th...

Re: The "Utah Problem" is back in uglier clothing
I too would like to see fees reduced. I dislike what seems to be a diluting of the course and who knows who is actually sitting behind the computer "taking the class". For me, face to face classes help me to help folks do the right thing, answer question about Texas laws (that's really why...

Re: dummy guns/t-shirt vendors/accessory suppliers?
I have a couple of these in bright yellow, see link. They are cheap. They are not red or blue. But, they work great for class demos, esp simple stuff like indexing, using with flashlights, stances, etc. They are a little flexible and not quite heavy enough, but they do work. http://www.amazon.com/s?...

Re: Expenses?
Ditto much of this. I work out of my living room for now and then go to local gun range. I picked up some "training guns" though I winced when I saw the price of the ASP red guns. Bought a couple of these http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Hard-Rubber-Training-Gun/dp/B00079YZBO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF...
