The funny thing is that, typical of the media and such things, the reportage of what constituted the screening force at the startup was skewed toward the problem children.

When we first started I worked with no less that 6 engineers of various stripes, and programmers and business office personnel, all of us suffering from the telecom bubble burst.

One of the engineers was sent home, eventually, while they investigated the supposed felony warrants and convicitons in his background, even though all of them occurred before he was born - he got a nice paid vacation out of it anyway.

The big problem in the hiring process was that the government depended on NCS Pearson to do all of the processing, and they took shortcuts that the government itself would not hav. And when the government decided not to renew NCSP's contract, they lost all kinds of paperwork, including hiring medical records.

Nope, you're not the only one, I think so too, and I am a TSA screener. Of course I think they should also let screeners that have passed TCPS carry on the job too.
