When ISP "administratively canceled" my FOID after I tried to get a change of address to TX, I still consider it revoked, they told me I could use a TX license as a FOID, but not a CHL, a hunting license, and that my CHL would not be considered a FOID, and that the only reason for me to come there and buy ammo would be for hunting and not target shooting, so I would also need a non-resident hunting license, and on, and on.chasfm11 wrote:The whole situation with law enforcement objection and board sounds more like a May Issue than a Shall Issue situation. They talk about a "pass thru" for non-residents which doesn't seem much different than my understanding today. Don't they treat another State's CHL as an IL FOID? As far as I can tell, it doesn't much change anything for non-residents because you still could not have a stop in IL and be compliant.
We'll see what actually passes by 6/9. I'm not optimistic that they'll get anything passed and this latest version doesn't seem like much of a "win" for gun owners if it is passed.
