For those of you that seem to think my comment was without basis. It's fairly common that employees that defend themselves or attempt to protect company property is terminated. Also, I'm sure there are some corporations that wouldn't consider that a favorable event. Keep in mind, not all corporate policies align with the opinions of most on here.

Do you think I was implying they shouldn't have defended themselves in spite of my initial comment in this thread? Taco Bell said in a statement to WMAR that the employees at the location were "very shaken up" about what happened and the franchise would be offering counseling to anyone who needs it.

The problem is that they could still be fired if they violated company policy even though their actions were legal.
