FBI Report - Crime Decreases
This is an insurance industry publication. Thought some may find it interesting since some will say crime skyrocketed due to all the gun sales. I didn't track down the actual FBI report. I am sure it's out there in the interwebs.

The estimated number of violent crimes in the nation decreased 4.4 percent in 2013 when compared with 2012 data, according to the latest FBI figures. Property crimes decreased 4.1 percent, marking the eleventh straight year the collective estimates for these offenses declined.
The 2013 statistics from the FBI’s annual report Crime in the United States show the estimated rate of violent crime was 367.9 offenses per 100,000 inhabitants, and the property crime rate was 2,730.7 offenses per 100,000 inhabitants. The violent crime rate declined 5.1 percent compared to the 2012 rate, while the property crime rate declined 4.8 percent.
