Re: First Time Flying With Handgun (Long read)
I would have been worried the whole time I was gone that THIS would be the time that a burglar would break in to my place and find the boxed gun sitting on the bed. And this: ...She then rips off the original luggage tag, prints out a new one to attach to my suitcase. ... is pretty interest...

Yes, I did...Just now...and I apologize. You are correct.sjfcontrol wrote: Did you read the second link in my post? TSA Q & A?

Re: For those who've checked a handgun
Actually, I used to think this too. However, I was corrected on this board. Seems the lock on the hard-case doesn't HAVE to be non-TSA, but it CAN be. I hate to disagree, but the fourth bullet point on this page (http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/editorial_1666.shtm" onclick=&qu...

Re: For those who have declared firearms at the airport...
I believe you need to have a TSA lock on the outside of your bag. I have always had one, so I'm not sure what happens if you do not. Are you saying that you have a locked container inside your regular luggage, then you lock the luggage with a TSA-approved lock? My luggage is a steel 81mm mortar cas...

Re: what would you do?
P.S. IMHO , I think that all these crazy "what if" situations where it's impossible to come out a "winner" are started by anti 2nd A posters. Don't play their game. Instead of saying what you'd do if you were in such and such a situation, let them know that you're able to AVOID ...

Re: Fingerprints for out-of-state resident applications
Or take your class from someone who also does fingerprints. That is no longer an option. An applicant must use the L1 electronic fingerprinting. No old-fashioned ink fingerprints cards anymore. I know of at least one (and there must be more) school that uses L1. That's where I am taking my class!

Re: Checking Firearm w/ American at DFW
Please consider what I do, weekly. I pack a Pelican (hard-sided) case with ALL my stuff (clothes, shoes, toiletries, laptop, paperwork, etc.) then I put my unloaded handgun (in an IWB holster) right on top...close it, lock it up. I do the exact same thing, although with a $20 army surplus steel box...

xtreme, I'm in the SA area, Schertz actually, I can put you in touch with our realtor...Don't know if he's CHL, didn't come up, (wouldn't be surprised though) but he's ex-airforce, conservative, and put up with me picking out the house without the hubby, then the purchase was long distance......the...

Re: How may of y'all carry to church?
I carry all the time. At home, at work, in church, everywhere. Period.
As for church...my current one has about 60 members, and there are two of us like-minded individuals. My old church was over 1000 members, and even most of the pastoral and office staff carried daily.
